At my company, we're working on a project that is an ASP.NET 2.0 workhorse. As I was just doing some research today to do some side learning (I don't do the heavy-lifting coding just yet - I'm more able to handle the client-side stuff), I ran across this book: Professional .NET Framework 2.0.
Now what's interesting about this book is that I know this guy. He grew up a street away from my parent's old house in Upton, and was good friends with my stepbrother. To top it off, I also just got a nice message from his fiancee, who I have not seen or talked to for the better part of 7 years. It's amazing, the changes people go through and what they've become and where they can go in such a relatively short period of time.
Connecting with my past always brings back good memories and feelings. I think I'm going to need to start concentrating more on finding and getting back with my friends and colleagues from the past years. =)
And as an aside, I'd like to say thanks to everyone who's offered their support and sympathies during these tough times my family is going through. Every family goes through them, unfortunately, and I appreciate that other people are this willing to help out.

Hey Josh, I saw a few hits in my weblog referral, and much to my surprise, I stumbled across your blog. How funny that you ran into my book. I hope you like it.
Sorry to hear about your aunts. I hope you and your family can pull through it and come out the other side. Hope there are better times just on the horizon.
Take care,

I'll cut you a deal, dude. Every Saturday, we both write a post on our blogs. After the post goes up, we write each other a comment about that post.
If you haven't posted & commented by 8AM Sunday, you owe the other guy a beer ;-)
